The motion of the bee in your photo made me think of the anticipation in the faces and bodies of these competitors. The forces of energy are there but not yet released. The lighting also interested me as my high school is now turning out all the lights in the gym during wrestling competition except for one low, large light over the main mat. The lighting is more dramatic but it makes taking a good photo more of a challenge.
Oh, this is a good one. I like how the boy on the left mimics the movement of the purple flowers in mine. I'll have to think on this one for a little while.
"Call and response is also crucial because it involves the audience; it transcends the separation of audience and performers so common in the west. The music is participatory in nature, it is not meant to be watched from afar." --The Influence of African Rhythms
